My recent stay at Casa Do Rio Wine Hotel - Vallado was absolutely exceptional. From the moment I arrived and was greeted by the friendly staff, I knew I was in for a top-notch experience. The hotel's location, nestled above the Douro river, provided breathtaking views throughout the day. Every room offered an unobstructed view of the river, making it truly special. The cozy atmosphere and tastefully appointed rooms made me feel right at home. The meals at the restaurant were a true highlight, with a talented chef serving up delicious dishes made with fresh, locally sourced ingredients. The service was swift and friendly, creating a relaxed dining atmosphere. Additionally, the hotel's wine selection, courtesy of Quinta do Vallado, was exceptional. I truly enjoyed the wines that accompanied the meals. I must also mention the attentive and involved host, Jose Pereira, who went above and beyond to ensure my stay was perfect. The staff at Casa Do Rio Wine Hotel - Vallado truly makes a difference. I can confidently say that this hotel is one of the best in Portugal. The entire experience was beyond excellent, and I highly recommend it to anyone seeking a truly remarkable stay. I'll recommend this hotel.

During my Christmas stay, I absolutely loved the warm and cozy atmosphere of the hotel. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, making me feel right at home. The rooms were beautifully furnished with some unique design elements, like the glass embedded screen. The meals served were delicious and the service was top-notch. I particularly enjoyed the world-class wine selection, which added to the overall experience. Another advantage was the stunning location amidst vineyards overlooking a river, providing breathtaking views throughout my stay.

One small downside was the uneven wifi coverage around the pool area. Although this didn't significantly impact my stay, it would have been nice to have consistent internet access in that area.

I recently stayed at Casa do Rio for two days and it was absolutely amazing. The hotel is situated in a stunning location with beautiful views of the mountains and the river. The design of the hotel and the furniture is gorgeous, creating a cozy and comfortable atmosphere. The rooms are well-appointed and the beds are extremely comfortable. The staff at the hotel are incredibly kind and attentive. The breakfast served was delicious and the overall experience was top-notch. I cannot recommend Casa do Rio enough – it truly is a spectacular hotel.

Tremendous food choices, breathtaking views of the Douro River, and fun activities like boat trips and kayaking. The wooden lodge suspended across the gorge was pure artistry.

The room at Casa Do Rio Wine Hotel was simply amazing! The open plan living area with its mix of cozy leather sofas, director's chairs, and colorful rugs made me feel right at home. The bathroom with its glass ceiling was a unique touch, allowing me to enjoy the outside view while showering. Having a coffee machine and kettle in the room was a great convenience. The air conditioning and TV provided extra comfort during my stay. The bathrobes and slippers provided were a nice touch too!

I personally didn't enjoy the showers only with glass windowed ceilings. But hey, some people might find it super cool!

From the moment we arrived, we were surrounded by a cozy atmosphere and breathtaking views. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel at home, and the food and wine were simply delightful. We particularly enjoyed the tastings of Quinta do Vallado and Quinta do Orgal wines, which showcased the best of the surrounding organic vineyards. The space around the hotel provided endless opportunities for our family to explore and create lasting memories. We will definitely be returning and will be recommending this hidden gem to all of our friends visiting Portugal!

For dads, it would be great to have a designated play area for children.

The wine tastings were hella fun, especially at Quinta do Vallado. We got to try the dopest wines from the organic vineyard, Quinta do Orgal. The staff were mad cool and made us feel like VIPs. The vibe of the hotel was super chill, and the location by the river was dope. We even had a spa day, and it was absolutely fire!

The only downside for us partygoers was that there wasn't a happening nightlife scene nearby. We wish there were more clubs or bars where we could turn up and have a wild night.

Two new suites were under construction during my visit, which slightly affected the view. However, this was only temporary and did not greatly impact my stay.
